1. Printed on several media

3. Tested the speed of the printer and were found to be

b. We also tested on 360 dpi 4-pass and the speed was achieved as 32.4 Square Meter/Hour. The quality achieve was good without any banding.

Once the print tests were concluded following were the general remarks

1. Why Seiko IP 4500 MKII

Seiko InfoTech IP-4500 MKII is the latest addition to Seiko range of printers. It is 1.372Meters wide oil based pigment piezo di-electric inkjet printer.

This printer was for the first time launched by Colour Byte LLC during the Sign & Graphic Imaging Middle East in December 2002 in Dubai United Arab Emirates.

Weather Resistance

The oil-based, odor-free pigmented inks create images which are both water resistant and lightfast, allowing non-laminated adhesive vinyl prints to be displayed outdoors for up to one year*.
Its high-quality output makes the IP-4500Mk-II/IP-4010Mk-II ideal for applications such as billboards and banners.

Clean ink with little odor

Unlike solvent ink, pigment with very little odor is employed as ink material. No equipment such as an expensive air exhauster is required.

720 x 720dpi 'Real' Resolution and
Various Printing Modes

The IP-4500Mk-II/4010Mk-II prints at 'real' 720dpi for graphic art quality print. Image quality can be further enhanced if 8-pass mode is used without any loss of speed.
The enhanced various printing modes are very useful for a wide range of application-CAD, GIS, Reprographics, Indoor Signage and Outdoor Signage.

6-Colour Print

The six-color inks used in the IP-4500Mk-II/4010Mk-II - cyan, magenta, yellow, black, light cyan and light magenta - increase the color gamut making areas such as skin tones richer and more life-like - ideal for the professional user who demands the best in color accuracy.>

Reduced Paper Distortion

Water-based inks can produce 'cockling' in areas of 100% ink density.
The oil-based ink in the IP-4500Mk-II/4010Mk-II avoids cockling altogether
allowing a much faster time to lamination if required.

SII's own Super-Wide Piezo Head Offers Superior Print Quality at High Speed

The enhanced super-wide piezo head on the IP-4500Mk-II/4010Mk-II allows the user to achieve superior print quality. The piezo print head is 72mm wide with 3,060 nozzles (510 per color). In addition, the head deposits super-fine ink droplets to consistently produce detailed images while reducing ink consumption and wastage.

High Speed Pigmented Printing

The IP-4500Mk-II/4010Mk-II achieves an outstanding 18sqm/hour (200sqf/hour) at 720dpi resolution. Even in high quality mode, it produces 15sqm/hour (180sqf/hour) at 720dpi. Such speeds make the IP-4500/4010 ideal for the high volume print environment.

Fast Drying Time

As oil-based inks produce printed images that can be hung immediately, continuous, high volume printing can be achieved. No fans or dryers are required.

SCSI and network models

SCSI Model
The SCSI model of the IP4500Mk-II/4010Mk-II allows high speed data transfer - come complete with a 6m SCSI cable.

Network Model
The network model supports 100Base-TX/10Base-T and Centronics interfaces. This model incorporates a large capacity hard disk of 15GB.
By catching data on the hard disk, the user can reprint multiple pages without re-transfering the data.

Windows Printer Drivers

The network model also incorporates Windows® 95/98/2000/NT printer drivers. The user friendly graphical interface allows settings to be made on-screen along with a number of other functions.

Wide Media Choice

The IP4500Mk-II/4010Mk-II is compatible with a wide range of media - coated
papers, glossy papers, backlit film, white PET film, adhesive vinyl, non-flammable cloth, scrim vinyl and outdoor cloth.

Low running cost

The Seiko Instruments super-wide piezo head consumes less ink and wastes less ink. This results in lower running costs.* Printing with pigmented inks can be very cost-effective.
