Definitions

Material Definition
Corrugated is a paper-based material consisting of a fluted corrugated sheet and one or two flat linerboards.
Corrugated Plastic refers to a wide range of extruded twinwall plastic-sheet products produced from high impact polypropylene resin with a similar make-up to corrugated fiberboard.
Corrugated Sandwich
Foam Any of various light, porous, semirigid or spongy materials used for thermal insulation or shock absorption, as in packaging.
Foam board Is a very strong, lightweight, and easily cut material used for the mounting of photographic prints, as backing in picture framing, in 3D design and in painting.
Folding Carton Is made of paperboard, and is cut, folded, laminated and printed for transport to manufacturers
Acrylic Cast acrylic (GS) is manufactured by pouring the liquid raw materials into a mould. Mirrored glass is usually used for shaping. Cast acrylic boasts excellent surface quality.Extruded acrylic (XT), granules are melted in an extruder using rotating screws. The resulting acrylic melt is shaped into the desired form at the end of the extruder by nozzles.
Aluminum Aluminum is a chemical element in the boron group with symbol Al and atomic number 13. It is a silvery white, soft, ductile metal. Aluminium is the third most abundant element (after oxygen and silicon), and the most abundant metal, in the Earth's crust
Composite are materials made from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties, that when combined, produce a material with characteristics different from the individual components.
Expanded PVC plastic that is made light and spongy by the introduction of pockets of gas or air.
Polycarbonate known by the trademarked names Lexan, Makrolon, Makroclear and others, are a particular group of thermoplastic polymers. They are easily worked, molded, and thermoformed
Polyester is a category of polymers which contain the ester functional group in their main chain.
Wood is a hard, fibrous structural tissue found in the stems and roots of trees and other woody plants.
Foil / Vinyl
Magnetic Foil
PVC Banner The most commonly used material is a heavy weight vinyl technically known as PVC. Vinyl banners are a form of outdoor advertising. Most banners are now digitally printed on large format inkjet printers which are capable of printing a full color outdoor billboard on a single piece of material.
Paper is a thin material produced by pressing together moist fibers, typically cellulose pulp derived from wood, rags or grasses, and drying them into flexible sheets.
Rubber Natural rubber, also called India rubber or caoutchouc, as initially produced, consists of suitable polymers of the organic compound isoprene, with minor impurities of other organic compounds plus water.
Canvas is an extremely heavy-duty plain-woven fabric used for making sails, tents, marquees, backpacks, and other items for which sturdiness is required.
Fabric A textile or cloth is a flexible woven material consisting of a network of natural or artificial fibres often referred to as thread or yarn.
Felt is a non-woven textile that is produced by matting, condensing and pressing fibres together. Felt can be made of natural fibres such as wool or synthetic fibres such as acrylic.

Brands

Brand Definition
BCA-Flute Combination of B, C and A-flute corrugated board
BC-Flute 6200 – 7500 microns in thickness this is another double wall material that marries two flute profiles together - 'B' and 'C', both giving excellent all round performances this material is most often seen in shipping cases where a high protection level is required
B-Flute B-Flute has 49 Flutes / Foot.Provides a stiff, flat surface for high quality printing and die cutting and with excellent crush resistant properties. This is also preferred for high speed, automatic packing lines and for pads, dividers, partitions and other forms of inner packing. Complex die cuts and beverage trays are excellent applications
C-Flute Consists of 41 Flutes / Foot. It has good stacking strength and good crushing resistance. By far the most widely used flute size. Used for glass, furniture, dairy
EB-Flute 3800 – 4500 microns in thickness this is a double wall material combining the fine 'E' flute and the commonly used 'B' flute. The results give an excellent performance level in both print finish and impact protection
E-Flute Consists of 95 Flutes / Foot. Characteristics are it's lightweight, superior printing surface and strong alternative to paper board. This will be excellent for custom die cut boxes. Used for displays, point of purchase boxes
Special Flute
Coroplast brand name of corrugated plastic and a registered trademark of Coroplast, Inc
X-
Re-
Falcon-board
Kappa, Foamcore Other names of Foam Board
Anticorodal a series of alloys of aluminum alligate with magnesium , copper and manganese characterized by good mechanical properties and excellent resistance to corrosion , used mainly for the production of window frames and suitable for l ' anodizing .
Peraluman the trade name of a particular series of alloys aluminium whose main alloying element is magnesium content which is up 5.6 % . Magnesium alloys makes these optimal characteristics of corrosion resistance, even in extreme saline environments, and also provides important capabilities also ductility and weldability
Dibond is a brand of rigid substrate belonging to the category "Aluminium Composite Panels" material. The brand is owned and manufactured by 3A Composites
Reynobond is a versatile composite panel manufactured by Alcoa. This composite panel consists of an extruded thermoplastic compound core that is fusion-bonded between two sheets of coil-coated aluminum, brushed aluminum, zinc, stainless steel, titanium, or copper
Alucobond is an Aluminium Composites invented by 3A Composites (formerly Alcan Composites & Alusuisse) over 40 years ago
Gatorfoam is the industry's leading heavy-duty foam board for more than 30 years. It is comprised of extruded polystyrene foam bonded between two layers of wood-fiber veneer.
Forex
Sintra is a lightweight yet rigid board of moderately expanded closed-cell polyvinyl chloride (PVC) extruded in a homogenous sheet with a low gloss matte finish.
Komatex is a lightweight closed-cell, free foam, rigid PVC sheet manufactured by Kommerling USA
Celtec is an expanded closed-cell PVC sheet manufactured by Vycom Plastics
PET (stands for Polyethylene terephthalate) is a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family and is used in synthetic fibers; beverage, food and other liquid containers; thermoforming applications; and engineering resins often in combination with glass fiber.
PP (stands for Polypropylene) also known as polypropene, is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications including packaging and labeling, textiles (e.g., ropes, thermal underwear and carpets), stationery, plastic parts and reusable containers of various types, laboratory equipment, loudspeakers, automotive components, and polymer banknotes
PE (stands for Polyethylene) or polythene (IUPAC name polyethene or poly(methylene)) is the most common plastic. Its primary use is in packaging (plastic bag, plastic films, geomembranes, containers including bottles, etc.)
Copolyester forms when modifications are made to polyesters, which are combinations of diacids and diols.
MDF (stands for medium density fiberboard) is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure.
